Privacy policy

Effective: November 1, 2026 · This English version is provided for convenience; the Korean version prevails.

In short: the Video Catcher extension and the companion app do everything inside your browser and PC. They do not send your browsing history or what you saved to nFiction or anyone else. The only exception is checking a Pro license bought through the payment provider.

1. Scope

This policy covers the Video Catcher browser extension (the "extension"), the Windows companion app (the "companion") and this website, provided by nFiction (the "company").

2. Information kept only on your device

The following stays in your browser's storage and is never sent to the company's servers. The company cannot access it.

3. Cookies and request headers

When saving video from a site you are signed in to, the extension (or the companion, if used) sends that site's cookies with the requests for that video only. They go only to that site from your PC and are not sent to or stored by the company or anyone else.

4. Companion app

The companion talks only to the browser on the same PC (native messaging) and only downloads, joins and converts video. It connects to the internet only to fetch the video you asked to save.

5. Pro license checks (the only information sent outside)

Only if you buy and activate Pro through the payment provider, the following is sent to that provider.

Keys issued directly by the company (starting with "VC1.") are checked inside the extension and nothing is sent. The name, email and payment details you enter at checkout are collected and kept by the payment provider; the company never sees or stores card numbers. The provider's own privacy policy applies to its processing.

6. This website

This website is a static site with no accounts, logins, analytics or advertising cookies. The hosting provider may keep access logs (IP address, time and so on) for a limited time for security and operations.

7. Sharing and selling

The company does not sell your information or share it with third parties for advertising, except where required by law.

8. Your rights

You can clear the extension's history or turn it off at any time on the history page.
Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
For payment information, ask through the provider's "My orders" page or our contact page to view, correct or delete it.
